Are you ready to rock? Guitar instructors at the New City School of Music will teach you the music you want to learn! Whether it’s rock, blues, country, metal or classical, our guitar teachers have you covered! On electric guitar or acoustic guitars, beginning students will learn the fundamentals to make them into the guitar players they want to be. Our instructors will teach students how to read music (not just ‘guitar-tab’) as well as work on chords, melodies, music theory and sight reading!
Students are encouraged to bring their favorite songs to lessons to work on with their teacher. Students are most motivated to learn and study their instrument when they are working on songs that they WANT to learn! Our guitar instructors can also teach banjo, ukulele, bass guitar and mandolin. HOURS:
Lessons are available 7 days a week:
Monday-Friday from 11:30am – 8:30pm
Saturdays from 9:00am – 3:00pm
Sundays from 1:00pm – 6:00pm

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?
That question is often asked by prospective students. The answer is that our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose the New City School Of Music as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual. If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.

We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical.

Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as New York University, Indiana University, Berklee College of Music, University of North Texas, Manhattan School of Music, University of Miami, Juilliard, SUNY Rockland and more! Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parents on a personal level.
