At the New City School of Music, we believe that early childhood is the perfect time to introduce the magic of music. Our Pre-K Music Classes are specially designed for children ages 3 through 5, offering a fun, engaging, and educational experience that nurtures the whole child—emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively.
Each class is a vibrant mix of activities including singing, active listening, pitch exploration, rhythm games, creative movement/dance, imaginative play, and group ensemble performance. These foundational skills help young children develop musicality while also enhancing their coordination, focus, self-expression, and social interaction.
Our curriculum also emphasizes parent-child bonding, creating meaningful moments of connection through shared musical experiences. Whether it’s tapping a steady beat together or moving joyfully to music, parents and caregivers are active participants in supporting their child’s musical and overall development.
Children will also be introduced to a wide variety of small hand percussion instruments—like maracas, tambourines, rhythm sticks, and more—allowing them to explore sound, texture, and tempo in a hands-on way.
Our nurturing and playful environment ensures every child feels confident and excited to learn. Whether your little one is singing their first song or discovering rhythm for the first time, our Pre-K Music Classes lay a joyful foundation for a lifelong love of music.
